This weekend Firefighter Veronica Konya will once again be in New York City walking 39.3 miles on Saturday and Sunday as part of the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer.  On Saturday the journey begins at Pier 84 with a walk of  26.2 miles followed by setting up camp in tents on Randalls Island. Sunday she will walk back to Pier 84 in 13.1 miles. She  have raised over $2600 with donations, a fund raising yard sale, and t-shirt sales. Her goal is to walk the New York walk again in 2013 and then the walk in Washington D.C. in the spring of 2014. 

 
Veronica's father is also going and will be part of the volunteer group, serving as a safety crew member. He will riding his motorcycle up and down Manhattan to ensure all cross safely at big intersections. This will be their second year doing this.
