South Plainfield Fire conducted ice rescue operations this weekend consisting of a full day in class and then out onto the ice. Members were provided with a refresher on the techniques associated with ice and water rescue on Saturday. On Sunday, the training moved to the lake located in Watchung, NJ adjacent to the firehouse. Teams from East Brunswick, Plainfield, South Plainfield Rescue Squad and South Plainfield Fire donned rescue suits and took to the ice. Important lessons were put into practice and the day was deemed a success.
